Dear All,

I've got a server with approx 8 different sequential IPs configured. I was wondering how hard it would be to configure openl2tpd to given that it's bound to 0.0.0.0:1701 to respond using the IP that it was contacted on?

Specifically my setup looks something like:

eth0: 1.2.3.4/24
lo: 127.0.0.1/8
2.3.4.1/32
2.3.4.2/32
2.3.4.3/32

... and the clients are contacting me on the 2.3.4.X addresses, however, openl2tp is responding from 1.2.3.4 ... which confuses the clients.

Use peer and tunnel profiles.
Create peer profiles to match each peer's IP. Set tunnel_profile_name in each peer profile to use a different tunnel profile for each peer. In those tunnel profiles, set src_ipaddr= to set a specific local (source) IP address to be used for the tunnel.

Hi,

Thanks (rather late) for the reply.

I managed to find an alternative solution whereby I only need a single IP on the LNS side.

As a note, you misunderstood the problem somewhat seeing that the client(s) would be connecting from dynamic IPs, making it impossible to match on their IPs.

Doesn't matter though. Thanks for a great product.
