Post subject:  Single Server IP for all PtP Tunnels

Hi,
I am currently using a Poptop PPTP server for our tunneling solution but am looking at changing over to L2TP. With Poptop, I can configure the server to use a single local IP address to use as the server IP for every PtP tunnel created. For example I can specify a single localIP of say 10.10.1.1 with a pool of remote IP's. Every tunnel created then uses the same local IP with different remote IP's from the pool.

Can I configure openL2TP to behave this way? How would I do this? It is preferable in my solution to have a single local IP on the server.

thanks,
Steve

Yes, you can do this by setting local_ipaddr in the default ppp profile (or the ppp profile that is used for these connections).

ppp profile modify profile_name=default local_ipaddr=xx.xx.xx.xx
