Hello there.
I use l2tpv3tun for many L2 lines for my customers. On "sever" site (I know, it is PTP, but for imagining my topology :-)) I have two routers with vrrp for redundancy. On both routers is running the same config. If one of the routers goes down, migrate local IP adres from one to second router and all services are running trought second router again.

But there is problem by starting configuration on second router. It have to be a local IP adress directly on the router, where is configuration started. But IP adress is floating.
I have to bind it to second router and then I can run

l2tpv3tun add tunnel ......

From time to time made my colleagues mistake and they forgot unbind local address from second router and this is problem. Customers lines goes down...

Could be do l2tpv3tun more usable and allow to create l2tpeth interface without local IP address directly on router? Eg. with keyword vrrp in line l2tpv3tun add tunnel?

Thank you very much for replies or suggestions

M.
